SmartDocs offers all the benefits of an enterprise document management system and much more. Yet all this is achieved with just three easy-to-install components:
- SmartDocs Agent
This is the client software agent that is installed on a user’s PC/Workstation. The SmartDocs Agent intelligently tracks documents, handles change control and automated uploads. This software also handles encryption and user alerts.
- SmartDocs Server
This is the server software that is installed on a central document server. The SmartDocs server interacts with the multiple SmartDocs Agent applications and handles automated uploads, version management, search indexing, tag management, encryption, security and intelligent content management.
- SmartDocs Web Application
The SmartDocs web application is the simple, yet intuitive web user interface that lets uses login and browse the document repositories. It also provides user management, search facilities, SNS, tag management and content collaboration tools.
How does SmartDocs work?
- SmartDocs components include the SmartDocs Agent and the SmartDocs Server.
- SmartDocs Server is installed on the central document server.
- SmartDocs Agent is installed on the local PC/Workstations and configured with the SmartDocs Server settings.
- Users are created and setup on the SmartDocs Web application by the administrator.
- User now have to activate their SmartDocs Agent once with their username / password and SmartDocs silently takes over all document management activities and uploads to the SmartDocs Server automatically.
- Users can browse the online repository through the SmartDocs web application to access all their documents and also collaborate with multiple users.
